Daniel Sturridge will start on the bench when Liverpool take on Villarreal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final despite the absence of the injured Divock Origi.

The England international has made an impressive return from injury in recent weeks, having missed a large part of the current season. 

But four goals in his last five games, including the opener against Newcastle on Saturday, failed to win him a place in the first-team. 

Roberto Firmino leads the Liverpool attack in Castellon, with James Milner, Adam Lallana and Phillippe Coutinho starting behind.

Kolo Toure, meanwhile, gets the nod to start in the centre of defence in place of Mamadou Sakho, who is currently serving a provisional UEFA ban over doping charges.
